Check to see if engine light is on or if overdrive light is flashing. If so, please have your vehicle looked at immediately. These lights are advising you of a problem with your vehicle. Fast service of the vehicle could prevent major damages to your transmission.
Most vehicle fluids are checked with motor running while in park or neutral. Check your vehicles owner manual or vehicle’s dipstick for details.
Always warm up your vehicle. Your transmission is a hydraulic system, and the fluid is responsible for its pressure, lubricant, and cool-it. Fluids are very thick at colder temperatures, so warming of the vehicle will thin the fluid, allowing the fluids to perform their job.
Look in your owner’s manual for details. If not available, we recommend changing fluid and filter every 50,000 miles (unless fluid is extremely dark due to excess heat). A good service program can save you from a potential breakdown and costly repairs in the future.
